Process Overview

1. Submit the Request A Quote form

2. If you accept the quote then a 10% deposit will be required to move the project forward.

3. Your portrait is painted and submitted for review. You will be supplied with a web page to view a photograph of the portrait.

4. Minor changes and touch-ups are done before final approval. For major changes (i.e. adding another person) you will receive a quote before any changes are made.

5. Upon final approval the remaining balance for the portrait will be due.

6. Upon receipt of final payment the portrait will be packaged, shipped and insured against damage through UPS ground. [more about this]

 

General Questions

How do I commission a painting?
When you Request a Quote please include the following information:

  • Medium - Identify whether you would like a custom portrait in Charcoal or Oil Paint
  • Size - Dimensions of the portrait. If you're not sure click to view available sizes
  • A background description - There are two different background types: Generic and Detailed. A Generic background has no recognizable shapes. A detailed background would have imagry in the background Please supply a detailed description of your request and include all applicable images.
  • An image - Please attach the image(s) you'd like to base your portrait on to your email when you request a quote.

How do I send the image(s) I would like to use for the portrait?
Through email. This is the most convienient way to provide an image and it ensures that a cherished photo will not be damaged.

When will my painting be finished?
I will provide you with a projected finish date when you Request A Quote. Finish dates for a custom portrait are dependant upon how many other projects may be pending commitments.

 

Payment

How do I make a payment?
Online payments are accepted through PayPal. If you aren't familiar with PayPal, find out more here.

Will I be able to see the finished product before I make the final payment?
Yes. I will supply you with a link to a web page which will display an image of the portrait so that you can make a final approval.

 

Shipping

What do you charge for shipping?
Shipping is included in the quote.

When will I receive my painting?
Your painting will be shipped UPS ground after you have given final approval and made final payment for the portrait. It will be shipped in 1-2 business days after final payment.

What if my painting is damaged when I receive it?
All artwork will be insured and you will be given the option of a new painting or a refund. The return of the damaged artwork will be required before a refund is issued or a new painting begun.
